Plaine des Cafres Nursery

A 40-cot childcare facility

Set in the open landscape of La Plaine des Cafres, the project seeks an architecture that is compact, sheltering and widely turned towards the outdoor spaces. The composition of the volumes gives the building a scale suited to children while clearly asserting its presence in the neighbourhood.

The design takes into account the particular climate of Réunion’s uplands, favouring sheltered, bright and comfortable spaces. The living areas are arranged simply and clearly around protected outdoor spaces, true extensions of the activity rooms.

The whole offers a reassuring and functional environment, where the architecture naturally accompanies the different moments of the day and supports the children’s development.
